MWENDA Foundation  (Kaelo, Kenya)
As stated on their website, "The Mwenda foundation began in March of 2007, born out of the experience of the Founder and Director, Mr. Tommie L. Fulp.  Upon his return from an evangelistic campaign in Kaelo, Kenya, Mr. Fulp after having witnessed first hand the problems of illiteracy and a lack of medical facilities in this area felt compelled to help.

The name of the foundation “MWENDA” was a name that the people of Kenya gave to Mr. Fulp during his initial visit.  The name means “One Who Loves”, so when Mr. Fulp began thinking of a name for this foundation, he felt compelled that only those who truly love others and are led by the filling of the Holy Spirit would be called to be contributors to this foundation.  Hence the name of this wonderful foundation; MWENDA, One Who Loves."

(Note: Neither St. David Mission nor The Franciscans of Divine Providence have direct ties to this organization. We became aware of this noble outreach from one of Fr. Tom's Spanish language students. We encourage you to check out their website and and "discover the mwenda in you".  God Bless.)
